The class visited Martin Lanes in Roodhouse today where owners Jamie and Krista Martin gave the students a tour and told them about the history of the business and the building. The building belonged to Jamie’s grandparents, Bill and June Martin, who opened a bowling alley in 1961 and ran it until 2008. Jamie and his son and business partner, Matthew Martin, began working on the renovations in November 2019. They have completely refurbished the building with refurbished bowling lanes and have added an outside patio, miniature golf and arcade games. Martin Lanes hosts bowling leagues, private parties, and has entertainment on weekends.

Jamie and Krista live in Jacksonville but both grew up in Greene County and graduated from North Greene High School. Jamie says the best part of the business is reconnecting with the community and with family.
