The class had a great visit to Brantzel’s in White Hall, where owner Kelsey Nell shared an important message with the students: Life rarely follows the path you have planned, and sometimes the unexpected turns lead to the greatest opportunities.

As high school students, there can be tremendous pressure to have everything figured out…where to go to college, what career to pursue, and what the future should look like. Kelsey reminded our students that it's okay for plans to change, goals to evolve, and opportunities to take you in directions you never imagined. Success isn't always about following a perfectly mapped-out plan. Sometimes it's about being willing to take a chance, adapt when things don't go as expected, and recognize opportunities along the way.

One of the most valuable lessons we can teach young people is that they don't have to have their entire lives figured out at 17 or 18 years old.

Thank you, Kelsey (and Maeve), for sharing your perspective and reminding the students that a winding road can still lead to a wonderful destination…and an awesome coffee shop! ☕️
