“You have to have a passion for animals” is what Mandy Speaker, owner and operator of Mandy’s Whine and Bark, told the class today when they visited her grooming and animal shelter in White Hall. Mandy and groomer, Nicole Barber, said that all of their rescues are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and heart worm tested prior to being adopted.

Volunteers are the heart of their not-for-profit shelter. Without volunteers, the shelter would not be able to operate. Volunteers spend their time walking dogs, feeding and watering, changing the bedding, cleaning kennels, and playing with the animals. Volunteers are always needed.

Thank you to Mandy and Nicole for showing the class what it takes to run a grooming business and animal shelter. Your time is greatly appreciated!
